PLAY + COMFORT

This introductory course will provide some basic interpretations of themes commonly found in children’s play.  We will explore the positive relationship that develops between therapist and child during play therapy sessions and how this can provide a corrective emotional experience necessary for healing. 

COMFORT • 2 CEU's

In this workshop, learn how yoga can be integrated into client's health care goals to reduce pain in the body.  Together we will explore the research on yoga outcomes and the effects yoga has on the body and mind. In addition, therapists will learn how to teach and demonstrate how to safely start, continue or modify yoga practices so that clients can access poses and help their physical pain. 


BREATHE

During this course therapists will engage in slow gentle rhythmic breathing and mindfulness of breath. Through the experience of repeated rounds of breath work and meditation, gentle movement and small group interactions, participating therapists will discover these benefits. Those interested in learning how to teach these practices to clients will obtain information on tools and opportunities for such training.


LOVE + BOUNDARIES

This workshop will assist Clinicians who have children in their own lives, in the ability to assess, identify and utilize their own child’s love language to assist with guidance and positive parenting practices.  In addition all clinicians will learn how to teach the parents they work with about the 5 love languages to help create lasting, loving connections between children and their parents.

This course is intended to give clinicians the tools they need to resolve the common and not-so-common ethical and boundary issues and dilemmas that they may expect to encounter in their everyday professional practice in the 21st century.


MEDITATE + CARE

Within this personal study, therapists will learn and practice different techniques that can be used in teaching clients meditation and mantra. 

CARE • 2 CEU's

This 2 hr interactive presentation will emphasize how the focus on our own practice trains us to decrease comparison and embrace self-compassion-both in yoga and our professional lives.

Participation in movement exercises is optional.


ART + SAND

In this workshop, we will be led by a certified art therapist in creating our own art.  We will learn how art is a medium of expression that can make it easier for ourselves and thereby empowering our clients of all ages to express themselves. 

SAND • 1 CEU

You will learn how to set up sand play, what is needed, and ideas on how to implement it into your practice. We will talk about how to use sand play as a directive and non-directive play therapy tool. This workshop will equip you with the abilities to assist your clients in tapping into their own emotions and thoughts they otherwise couldn’t articulate.

In this workshop, the presenter will show attendees how identifying and modifying maladaptive schemas is central to schema therapy. CBT intervention will be taught to assist in changing client’s schemas.
